About a year ago, I sold a painting on Ebay to Deaf
Hope director, Julie Rems-Smario. The painting is called
"Birth of a Girl Child". I was excited to
learn from Julie via email exchanges that she was planning
on placing the painting at her organization: Deaf Hope
that supports deaf women who have been victims of domestic
violence. Knowing that my work would be used in such
a way was a gift in itself.
But, today, while eating my lunch and watching CNN,
I learned that Julie has been selected as a CNN Heros
Finalist. As her story passed across my TV screen, I
saw the painting she had purchased in the background.
Wow, that's amazing I thought to myself....look at that.
I
have to tell you that nothing makes an artist more happy
than to know that your work is a source of joy for others.
Seeing the great work that Julie and her organization
Deaf Hope is doing made me even happier. I hope you
will visit Deaf Hope's site and consider supporting
her great work for a very important cause.
